Did you know the NFL has a long-standing policy of not paying a performance fee to artists that appear during halftime of the Super Bowl?
They do, however, cover all performance-related production expenses.
Just like Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, and even BeyoncĂ©, Shakira and Jennifer Lopez didnât get paid a single dime to perform at past Super Bowls!
But donât feel too badly for them. Although they donât get actual cash, the exposure can be worth tens of millions of dollars, and often the halftime show scores higher ratings than the actual game!
Forbes reported that the halftime show âis the single biggest promotional vehicle for a music star on the planet.â

In front of nearly 110 million viewers, the two stars offered a millimetre show, alone and then togheter, their biggest titles: «Whenever, Wherever», «Chantaje», «Hips Donât Lie» for the Colombian singer Shakira, «Jenny from the Block» or âGet Rightâ for Jennifer Lopez.Â
Jennifer Lopez shared the stage with her daughter for a song and paid tribute to basketball player Kobe Bryant, who tragically disappeared on January 26.
